ABOUT THE FOUNDER

New Beginnings Nutritionals was founded under the guidance and direction of Dr. William Shaw, PhD.

Dr. Shaw is the Director of The Great Plains Laboratory, which specializes in the biochemical testing of metabolic disorders for diseases such as autism, PDD, hyperactivity, inborn errors of metabolism, and adult disorders such as depression and chronic fatigue. He is a PhD. biochemist that is world renowned as a researcher and speaker in the field of autism and related disorders. Dr. Shaw has been actively involved with both the Defeat Autism Now (DAN!) and Cure Autism Now (CAN) groups and is a board member of the National Academy for Child Development. In 1998, he published the book: Biological Treatments for Autism and PDD that has helped thousands of parents seeking answers for their children on the autistic spectrum.

MEDICAL CONSULTANT FOR MENTAL HEALTH DISORDERS

James M. Greenblatt, M.D., is the Chief Medical Officer of Walden Behavioral Care, a psychiatric and eating disorder hospital in Waltham, Massachusetts. He is a dually board-certified child and adult psychiatrist and is the Founder and Medical Director of Comprehensive Psychiatric Resources, an integrative psychiatry practice. Dr. Greenblatt received his medical degree and completed his adult psychiatry residency at George Washington University in Washington, D.C., and completed a fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at Johns Hopkins Medical School. Dr. Greenblatt is an Assistant Clinical Professor at Tufts University Medical School, Department of Psychiatry. For over 20 years, Dr. Greenblatt has been a leader in Integrative Medicine, lecturing throughout North America on the scientific evidence for nutritional treatments in psychiatry and eating disorders.

CONSULTING NATUROPATHIC PHYSICIAN

Dr. Nicola McFadzean, is a licensed Naturopathic Doctor practicing in Temecula, California. Credentialed in Australia before receiving her Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine from Bastyr University in Seattle, Washington, her training and practice has been focused on natural healing and integrative medicine. Dr. McFadzean has also developed a natural preconception program to help parents-to-be maximize their chances of having healthy, neurotypical children. GENERAL MANAGER AND DIRECTOR

Lori Knowles is a mother of a recovered child (Daniel, age 11) and General Manager of New Beginnings Nutritionals. She has a B.A. Degree from Frostburg State University and became involved with autism after her youngest son was diagnosed in 2000. Lori is very knowledgeable regarding the role that different biomedical treatments played in rescuing her son Daniel from autism. In 2003, in conjunction with Dr. William Shaw and other medical professionals, she helped create and launch New Beginnings Nutritionals. She is a frequent speaker on the subject of autism recovery and nutritional supplements at autism conferences around the world. She collaborates with physicians, naturopaths, scientists, researchers and parents in order to create a diverse product line that parents and physicians can trust. Lori enjoys drawing from both her extensive research, professional and personal experience in recovering her own child to support parents and practitioners seeking answers to improve the lives of children affected with autism.
